Start with the Appointment, Then Work Backward
- Enter the appointment as the Primary Event, including its date and time.
- Add the tasks that must happen beforehand: getting dressed, packing, travelling, and parking, for example.
- Enter each duration. Put the step closest to the appointment first in Preceding Events. Drag rows to change their order.
- Read the timeline to see when each step starts. Adjust any estimates that feel too tight.
- Sign in, select a calendar you can edit, and choose Save schedule. Review the resulting events in Google Calendar.
Example: Be at an Appointment at 9:00 AM
| Start | Step | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| 8:00 AM | Get ready | 20 minutes |
| 8:20 AM | Pack your bag | 10 minutes |
| 8:30 AM | Travel | 30 minutes |
| 9:00 AM | Arrive | Primary event |
In RS, enter Travel, Pack your bag, and Get ready in that order beneath the primary event. A longer travel estimate moves the earlier steps back automatically. It is still your estimate: RS does not check traffic or read your existing calendar to find free time.
What Gets Saved?
RS creates calendar events for the primary event and the preparation steps you choose to save. Signing in does not save anything by itself. Choose your calendar and explicitly save after reviewing the plan.
Can I Try It Without Signing In?
Yes. You can build and adjust your timeline without an account. Saving to Google Calendar currently requires alpha access. If Google displays an unverified-app warning, RS has not yet completed Google verification.
What About Delays?
Add a separate buffer step or increase a duration to allow for parking, walking in, or collecting your things. RS recalculates from your inputs; it does not monitor your progress or automatically rearrange the rest of your calendar.
